Professor Melanie Bahlo joins AGRF Board
/We are delighted to announce that Professor Melanie Bahlo joined AGRF’s board. Melanie is a renowned expert in medical biology, with an impressive career dedicated to advancing research in health and ageing. Melanie currently serves as a Professor at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute (WEHI), where she leads the "Healthy Development and Ageing" theme, underlining her commitment to impactful research in this critical field.
Melanie’s career highlights include her previous role as Division Head at WEHI and her election to the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences in 2020. In 2023, her contributions to medical research were further recognised when she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
Melanie’s commitment to leadership and professional development is reflected by her recent graduation from the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2024. Throughout her career, she has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Australian Academy of Science's Moran Medal (2009) and the Genetics Society of Australasia’s Ross Crozier (2015) and MJD White (2024) medals.
