Our Services

PD+ Submit your unpurified PCR product. We purify your amplicon, gel QC to get size and concentration, and then sequence in single or dual direction. A great time saver and simple to use. Standard turnaround time 72-120hrs.

PD   Send a mix of purified DNA and Primer and we’ll do the rest. Great for routine Sequencing and plasmids. This will save you buying the BDT. Turnaround time 36-72hrs.

CS+  You do the BDT reaction , we will remove excess dyes and sequence. This is handy when you want to customise your sequencing reaction but save and money on the clean-up. Turnaround time 24-48hrs.

CS   Give us your cleaned-up and pelleted BDT reaction. This is great for your customised reactions that need special treatment. Turnaround time 24-48hrs.

Note: Turnaround times are measured from when AGRF receives intact client samples at the destination node where samples are processed .Turnaround times may occasionally be longer than these times, and AGRF will communicate any expected delays to sequencing as soon as we are aware.  Any circumstances out of AGRF’s control (e.g. shipping delays) may also result in increased turnaround times.

PCR re-sequencing
Send us your gDNA (or samples for DNA extraction) and we will PCR amplify, purify and sequence the PCR products. You can provide us with a primer design, or our bioinformatics team can design the primers for you. If you are planning a large PCR based sequencing project, this option lets us take care of the whole process. This service is commonly used for the identification of somatic mutations and genetic variability, such as SNPs. If you add our extraction services and custom bioinformatics analysis options, we can take you from raw tissue to analysed data (note: minimum project sizes apply). Request a quote

Microbial Identification via 16S DNA sequencing
Using AGRF's 16S service, your bacterial sample can be screened to the genus / species level.

All bacteria contain the 16S ribosomal RNA gene (16S), which contains conserved and variable regions. Detection of the conserved region enables all bacterial kingdoms from within a sample to be detected, identification of the variable regions enables deeper taxonomic resolution. DNA sequencing of the 16S component of the bacterial genome has become a key tool for microbial identification. A portion of the 16S gene is amplified and sequenced.  This sequence is compared against a database contained manually curated microbial sequences.

Data Delivery

For service sequencing, once sequencing is complete you will receive the following data files for each sample submitted:

  • Raw trace (.ab1 file)
  • BLAST results against the GenBank database (.bn file)
  • FASTA Quality Trimmed Sequence (.fa file)
  • Raw, unfiltered basecall sequence (.seq file)

In addition, each batch submitted will receive a Batch Summary Report (.pdf file) containing key quality metrics regarding the batch.

For PCR re-sequencing samples you will receive: 

  • Raw trace (.ab1 file)
  • Raw, unfiltered basecall sequence (.seq file)
